2025 Street Maintenance Program
The following work locations have been completed:
- Michigan St. – W 2nd St. to W 6th St.
- W 2nd St. – McDonald Dr. to Michigan St.
- Congressional Dr. – W 6th St. to Overland Dr.
- Rockledge Rd. – W 6th St. to McDonald Dr.
- Sherwood Dr., Sherwood Ct., Regents St., & Sterling Dr.
- Emery Rd. – W 9th St. to High Dr.
- O’Connell Rd. – E 23rd St. to E 31st St.
- Crestline Dr.; W 30th St.; & W 27th St.
- Maine St. – W 2nd St. to W 6th St.
North Lawrence Street Maintenance Work
Beginning June 2, street maintenance will take place in the west area of North Lawrence between N 2nd St. and N 7th St.. Work will begin in the south near Elm St. and Walnut St. and proceed north as the project progresses. This work will include milling, patching, microsurfacing, intermittent curb and gutter work, and asphalt overlay. Work will continue in this area through approximately December 19, 2025. After this time, work in this area will cease for the winter months.
Originally, the City anticipated this work to end October 23, 2025. This work is now anticipated to resume in April 2026 and to be completed in mid-May 2026. City contractors will notify affected properties before this work begins.
The project team is planning this work around major community events, such as the World Cup, to minimize travel impacts. We will provide an update to the estimated completion date when more information becomes available.
W 31st St. between Atchison Ave. and Iowa St.
Beginning Monday, October 6, street maintenance work will take place on W 31st St. between Atchison Ave. and Iowa St. Single lane closures will occur, but two-way traffic along W 31st St. will be maintained at all times.
The City anticipates this work to be completed by late-December, pending weather or other delays.
Eisenhower Dr.; Dole Dr.; & Earhart Circle
Originally, street maintenance work was slated to begin August 11, 2025, including the streets adjacent to (and including) Eisenhower Dr., east of Queens Rd., and north/south of Wakarusa Dr. Additionally, work will take place on the streets adjacent to (and including) Dole Dr. and Earhart Circle north of Wakarusa Dr.
Currently, this work is now anticipated to begin Monday, March 2, 2026. City contractors will notify affected properties before this work begins.

Fall Creek Rd.; Fall Creek Dr.; Running Ridge Dr.; & Running Ridge Rd.
On July 28, 2025, street maintenance work began on the streets adjacent to (and including) Fall Creek Rd., Fall Creek Dr., Running Ridge Dr., and Running Ridge Rd. Work will continue in this area through approximately December 19, 2025. After this time, work in this area will cease for the winter months.
