2026 Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition

Formerly known as the Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibition, the annual Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition has been a beacon for artists since its inception in 1988.

This year’s exhibition celebrates the spirit of the World Cup through six unique artworks, each offering a different creative perspective on public art and the world’s favorite game. Five of the six artworks will be on display throughout downtown, while the sixth project features Lawrence-inspired fútbol wearable gear which will be available at select Mass Street shops during World Cup festivities. 2025 Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition

For 2025, after 34 remarkable years as the Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibition—named originally by its founder, local artist Jim Patti—the Cultural Arts Commission recently renamed the program the Unmistakable Public Art Exhibition. This new name reflects the exciting evolution of public art, expanding beyond traditional forms like sculpture to embrace the many innovative and dynamic approaches that artists working in the public realm are exploring today.
