Note: This issue of the Weekly Traffic Update is being sent one day early as City offices will be closed Friday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
Sections of East 7th and Rhode Island streets to close for staging, Juneteenth Parade
Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, the 600 block of Rhode Island Street will be closed for staging for the Juneteenth parade.
The parade will move down Seventh Street, starting at the intersection of 7th Street and Massachusetts Street for its official 11 a.m. start. Intersections of Massachusetts Street between 7th Street and 11th Street will close, staggering 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the parade.
The roadways will open back up as the parade works it way down Massachusetts Street.
Mass. St. to close between North Park St. and South Park St. for the Juneteenth Celebration
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, Massachusetts Street between North Park Street and South Park Street will close for the Juneteenth Celebration event.
Detours will be in place starting at 15th Street to Barker Ave., Connecticut Street, E. 11th Street, and then back to Massachusetts Street at 11th Street (except during the Juneteenth Parade).
This closure will end on Saturday, June 6, at 10 p.m.
A section of sidewalk on 1000 block of Mass St. will be closed to pedestrians for Score Lawrence event
Beginning at noon on Monday, June 22, a portion of the sidewalk on the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street (1016 Mass. Street (Lucia), 1020 Mass Street (Granada), 1026 Mass. St. (the former Einstein Brothers Bagels) and the empty lot to the south between the buildings will be closed for a Score Lawrence Event.
Pedestrians will have a detour directing them to cross the street to the other side of Massachusetts Street. The sidewalk will reopen at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23.
New Hampshire Street in front of the Lawrence Arts Center to close for Score Lawrence Event
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, the 900 Block of New Hampshire Street between 9th Street and the farthest south entrance of the parking garage before 10th Street will be closed for a Score Lawrence Event.
A detour will direct traffic down 9th Street and 10th Street to Massachusetts Street. The street will reopen at midnight on Friday, May 24.
Street Closure for Live On Mass – Brass on Mass, Score Lawrence Events
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 26, the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street will be closed for the Live on Mass: Brass on Mass concert on Friday and for the Score Lawrence event on Saturday, June 27.
A detour route will direct traffic to New Hampshire Street, to 9th Street, and then to 11th Street.
This closure will end at 3 a.m. on Sunday, June 28.
