Unmistakable Events Grant Program (Formerly Transient Guest Tax Grant Program)

Due to the ongoing winter storm, City facilities, including City Hall and all Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 18. This is due to the forecasted winter storm resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

2026 Unmistakable Events Grant Program Application

The 2026 application closed November 10, 2025

The Unmistakable Events Grant program is managed through the Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) Department as part of the Unmistakable Identity outcome area. Grant application review will be conducted with the assistance of an ad hoc volunteer committee, comprising members from the Cultural Arts Commission and Parks and Recreation Advisory Boards as well as individuals with background in arts and culture, tourism, and economic development. This committee will review applications and make recommendations to the City Commission, which has final approval of grant funds.

Target TIMELINE for FY2026 Grant Program

  • October 3 – November 10, 2025 – Application period for FY2026 event grants
    • Application deadline: November 10, 2025, by 11 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 16 (2 to 3 p.m.) - Informational meeting for grant applicants - 10/16/25 Meeting Video
  • Friday, October 24 (2 to 3 p.m.) - Informational meeting for grant applicants - 10/24/25 Meeting Video
  • Friday, November 14 (1-3 p.m.) – Ad hoc committee meets to review scores and make recommendations - Parks and Recreation Administration office in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St. – Hybrid public meeting - 11/14/25 Meeting Video
  • Tuesday, December 2, 2025 – City Commission reviews Unmistakable Events Grant Program funding recommendations for approval at City Commission meeting
