Recreation Center Reservations can be made at any PRC Recreation Facility
Constructed in 1940, the Community Building was originally used as a National Guard armory, which was common for a municipal building in that era. Gradually, the Community Building transitioned into a full-time recreational facility. Today the building still serves Lawrence as a facility for Parks, Recreation and Culture classes and programs, as well as a rentable space for gatherings and events.
