Event Center Reservations can be made at the Community Building. 115 W. 11th St.
Originally built in 1888-89, the Union Pacific Depot served Lawrence as a passenger and freight station for nearly a century. When rail service ended in 1984, community efforts saved the building from demolition and Union Pacific donated the building to the City of Lawrence in 1990. Fully restored in 1996, the Depot now operates as an event space, preserving its distinctive architecture and railroad legacy at the edge of historic Downtown Lawrence. The Community Room and Theater Room cannot be reserved separately.
