Due to the ongoing winter storm, City facilities, including City Hall and all Parks, Recreation and Culture facilities, will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 18. This is due to the forecasted winter storm resulting in dangerous travel conditions.

  • Sunflower E-Waste [Lawrence, KS] – Sunflower offers quick and easy electronics recycling, with several convenient drop-off locations. They are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Goodwill [Lawrence, KS] – Goodwill can safely accept your unwanted computers and computer equipment. All brands, types, and conditions of computer equipment are accepted.
  • Best Buy [Lawrence, KS] –  Best Buy stores offer electronics recycling for an array of different devices.

Since 2008, the City of Lawrence and Douglas County have hosted periodic electronics recycling events, inviting customers to drop off their recyclable electronics free of charge.

Years 2008-2018 in the table below reflect the combined totals from two electronics recycling events per year. Totals from years 2020-2023 were from one event per year. Events that also collected paper for shredding are in parenthesis.
